Moronbah North Mine - Project Overview
Jennchem’s state of the art surface to in-seam grout pumping system has been on site at Moranbah North Mine permanently since completing a trial dating back to 2016. During that time over 10,000 pumpable cribs have been installed underground by specialist Jennchem personnel. Consistently high installation rates (up to 8 pumpable cribs per hour) are being achieved including record installs of more than 60 pumpable cribs in a single shift.
In 2018 Jennchem’s scope of operations were expanded to include surface to underground pumping of 20psi Longwall Seals, these were to be completed from the one system (along with pumpable cribs) by accessing both maingate and tailgate via overland delivery lines. The initial trial installation was a great success and Jennchem since, has gone on to install a further 140 seals for Moranbah North Mine, with zero rework required. This additional scope represents excellent utilisation of the people and equipment on site ensuring that the maximum benefit is achieved from the Jennchem team.
Other successful applications completed on site using the surface to in-seam grout pumping system include the 7,000m3 LW605 Crossdrive Backfilling Project in 2020, the 2,000m3 LW605 pre-driven recovery roadway (PDRR) backfilling in 2021 and over 50 x 200m3 gas drainage stub backfills across multiple tailgates
